A little strange this first real page of the 2004 season, as it's not actually set on camp. Instead this page chronicles my trip to Las Vegas in 2004 as part of fall travel camp.

For reasons of privacy I wont show any photos of guests of camp, as is true of the rest of this site, but suffice it to say: they rocked on the Vegas trip! *clicks her fingers, shuffles her feet and sings "Viva Las Vegas!"*

I'm going to skip over getting up at 5am, picking up the guests and then driving to the airport. Ah! If only it was that simple.

The flight was okay. Longer than I expected and for reasons I wont go into I didn't get an awful lot of rest but the views were spectacular.

Flying over Lake Mead

Just shy of five hours after setting off from New York, we found ourselves in Las Vegas, looking up at our hotel.

Treasure-Freaking-Island.

Okay so it's name isn't Treasure-Freaking-Island, but wouldn't that be cool?

Now unfortunately this is where this page kind of falls flat because this was no vacation. We (the Jened staffers), were there to work. My work involved spending around half my day at the slots. My guest (the most wonderful man I've ever met. Made quite the impression on Leanne aswell), came to Vegas with the sole intention of winning $100. He could not be persuaded to veer off this course.

If anyone, anywhere has any questions about the Venetian. I am the person to come to. 5 days we spent in there. I never want to hear the "ding! ding! ding!" of a slot machine again.

Anyway. Where was I? Yes so I'm afraid I do not have many photographs of Vegas at day as I simply didn't see it. However in the evenings we would all meet up and go paint the town red.

A view from the Venice. Sort of.

Many an evening spent in the Mirage. Oh, and if you can afford it I heartily recommend their all you can eat buffet. Excellent. Especially the craaaaaaabs.

The famous Bellagio fountains. Ooooooohhh... Pretty.

On our final night we stayed nearer to home for our entertainment. Namely Treasure Island's famous "Sirens of TI".

The sirens are on fire tonight!

Captain Mac gets a strange sinking feelng.

All in all I must say that Vegas is quite a town. I had alot of fun there.

Oh, in care you're wondering how we did at the slots. Well he didn't quite get to $100. Just $40 or so. But me? Well I did okay...
