The Staff Banquet

Towards the end of each summer camp puts on a party. This summer was no exception. Going into Mike's office one day I (along with Boo, Shawn & Jo), were charged with coming up with ideas for this one.

We chose a theme: A 70s Party, Baby!

The funky, total happening invitation. Designed by yours truly. Cos I'm cool.

After appointing a committee with such luminaries as Matt, Patrick, Jo, Ben, Dan, Jesse, Masha, Dina and Anna. And buying a lot of supplies, we were on our way!

Setting up took a damn long time and I thoroughly hated it, even more than last year. Considering I pushed through the 70s theme I was deeply regretting when we were nowhere near done with an hour until people started arriving.

But somehow. We got through. Let's get this party started.

The Scotish Sarahs are ready and raring to go!

We settled down for the food... of which I have no photos. Hey! I was busy socializing! Get off my back!

Shawn and his biatches

Betty enjoys the food

Luuk & Gladys win. There is nothing else to say. 'Fro.

Alla doesn't want me to bother her

Okay stop whatever you're doing and look at THEMBI on the right because I swear to God, it's worth it!

Emily! Stop it!

As we finished the meal we were greeted with a right blast from the past. This is one for the old skool people old there! MOLLY!

Tony's happy when Molly drops by

Once the food was done Mike got up and did his bit - filmed by moi for posterity's sake, once I get some webspace, anyway.

Tonights theme: The Family Jened

And cue everybody getting down with their groove thang.

A few brave souls start filling the dance floor

Matt has his own take on the cheesy 70s pop

Eva shakes her bananas

Selina's all about the 70s lurve

Jo gets her groove on

People started dancing crazy!

I think Jab's doing the robot

Amy shakes her money maker. Can I stop with the slang now? I'm not very good at it, in case you didn't notice already. Heh.

Okay so are Lee & Danielle doing the twist there?

Tone the Gnome

Dancing... with bubbles. You 'kay there, Sveta?

JB's a star, but he dances weird

Still that lot might be making fools of themselves dancing, but some of us are perfectly capable of doing that while staying still.

Oh he's just chillin. What up, G? (it's best not to ask why I called Patrick "G" anyway).

What up, E? I'm so sorry.

Oh, and by the way. That is SO a costume! Led Zepplin shirt, ACDC trucker hat. It's SUPER 70s EMILY

Anyway. Back to the party.

Yep. Thems my counselors.

Yep. Yep.

I'd just like to take a moment here to draw your attention away from the well cool, totally awesome, [insert your own 70s slang here] party and to Snr Scotish Sarah. Because Snr Scotish Sarah isn't well.

What's this? I hear you cry, "but isn't there a photo of Sarah from earlier in the day?" Well yes. Yes there are. But SOMEONE decided to hit the sauce a little early and by the time we'd finished eating had to go to bed.

I do not find this funny. Well maybe a teeny weeny little bit.

Not funny at all. Bless her.

Anyway. Back to the show.

Okay so see Koray in the corner there? He's a sneaky photo-invader! Honestly! He does it again! Watch out for him! Oooh! It's like "Where's Koray?" - Sorry

Lily, Me and Betty.

Jaylene and Mel

Kat takes a break in the chill-out zoe. Hell yeah! We had a chill-out zone. It had beanbags and lavalamps and it was cool And black lights aswell that made your teeth look really weird and everyone round there had to talk with the mouth closed.

Masha... poses. Really. Made me take about 3 shots.

Shawn, JB & Me give out the positive vibes.

So at about 10pm we all trudged off to the bar. Viva Dutch's!

Oh! Happy fun times!

Theres that sneaky Koray again, getting in on Sarah's photo. Sneaky.

The infamous 12 year old

Lily gets a piggyback. I only dropped her a couple of times.

"The King" relaxes.

So Molly may kill me for posting this photo. Oh well. It'd be worth it!.

And so this brings out recollection of the staff banquet 2005 (via the 1970s), to an end. I shall leave you with this...

Fluffy, happy 'kin fairy

PARTY ON, DUDES!
